2012 Goals Review - January

I didn't have any January specific goals and I don't think that I will be setting any monthly goals for the entire year. I intend to focus solely on my 12 in 2012.

In January I managed to knock off one of them, not the one I was initially going for but one of them none the less. I can't say I did it with any finesse or glory either. I did however capitalize on an opportunity to save roughly $400. The goal I completed was #3 on the list which was buy a really nice camera or a new smart phone. I went with the phone and so far I do not regret it. I'll give a full review some time around the end of the month after I have used it for a bit.

My intentions for this particular goal was to find one I wanted and save for it but an opportunity arrived that I didn't want to pass up so I sprang for it a little early. It knocked back my current savings a bit but in the end it would have saved me more to get it when I did. The ability it has granted me to better and more frequently communicate with P while she is away studying is well worth the money I dropped on it as well. It's even made her happier and that in itself has a very high value.

So one month down, one goal down. My plans for February are to get to work on applying for jobs, I am suppose to apply for no less than 12 this year, which means at least one a month and I am behind on that so I want to do a couple CV's this month. I also want to take a shot at practicing for the 5K. Lastly I want to do some serious blog work. All of it won't be visual but I do have some projects to work on and such and I want to get a general idea for a redesign.

I think that's it for the goals review. Time to make February awesome.

  1. One goal down, 11 to go! You just reminded me I am supposed to be averaging 1 goal a month. I didn't accomplish any of mine, but I should have at least read 1 book. I'm halfway through my first book. I just haven't had time to sit down and read, and only read during my lunch breaks at work... Good luck applying for jobs; hope you find a very good one. Looking forward to that phone review!
